Weir Phillips Heritage and Planning assisted Annabelle Chapman Architects with the adaptation of this dilapidated Victorian weatherboard worker’s cottage into a spacious family home.
The four front rooms and the hall of the cottage were retained as bedrooms and bathrooms and the rear ‘lean-to’ removed to make way for a new wing housing the living rooms, kitchen, laundry and butler’s pantry.
The new wing respected the cottage’s proportions and vernacular character allowing it to integrate seamlessly into the conservation area in which it lies.
