The heritage listed Legion House was designed by the prominent Sydney architectural practice of Kent and Budden for the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) and opened in 1903.
Weir Phillips Heritage and Planning worked closely with FJMT Studio and developer Grocon to conserve and update this building. The building was part of a larger project which included the construction of the ANZ Tower on Pitt Street, behind Legion House. Challenges included guiding the design of a vertical addition to Legion House, conversion of the building to a Six-Star Green Office and the integration of accessibility and fire requirements into the fabric of the building.
