Atlassian Global Headquarters, Haymarket

Weir Phillips Heritage and Planning provided heritage advisory services leading to the approval of the new Global Headquarters for Atlassian within the highly significant Central Station Precinct.

We worked closely with Atlassian, Avenor, Urbis, Bates Smart, EC3 with Terrior to develop the tower envelope within this highly constrained and historic site. The design of the podium incorporates the historic former Inwards Parcel Shed, which stands on the site on the tower.

We also acted as the heritage expert for the international design competition for the project, which was eventually won by New York-based architects SHoP, in conjunction with Australian practice BVN. The competition winning 180-metre tower will be the tallest commercial hybrid timber building in the world with construction due to start in 2022.
