Philip has more than twenty years of experience at a senior level as a town planner, architect and heritage consultant in both local government and the private sector. This has involved a wide variety of projects ranging from small scale residential in heritage conservation areas to major state significant mixed-use developments. His international experience also includes the master planning of new residential estates and a major tourist resort in Indonesia.

He is an established expert witness in the Land and Environment Court and has acted for both council and applicants in over 150 matters, many of which he has brought to successful resolution prior to hearing though the Court conciliation process. He is also an independent expert member of the Hawkesbury, Hunter’s Hill and Penrith Local Planning Panels.

His architectural experience allows him to identify often simple design-based solutions to planning and heritage problems. With an intimate knowledge of the internal workings of local government, the technicalities of architectural practice and the realities of the development industry, he is able to apply his skills in planning, design and heritage towards the resolution and approval of often contentious developments
